Reading Passage Marathon:

The Reading module is all about tackling various reading passages on academic topics like humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Don’t worry, you won’t need specialized knowledge – all the information to answer the questions will be within the texts themselves.

Five Task Types:

The module keeps things interesting with five different task types designed to assess your reading comprehension and analytical skills. Here’s the breakdown:

  1. Multiple Choice (Single Answer): You’ll be presented with a passage and several answer choices. Pick the one that best answers the question based on the text.
  2. Multiple Choice (Multiple Answers): Similar to the single answer type, but you’ll need to choose multiple options that are supported by the passage.
  3. Re-order Paragraphs: This one tests your understanding of text structure. You’ll be given a jumbled passage and need to arrange the sentences in the correct order to create a coherent text.
  4. Reading & Writing: Fill in the Blanks: This combines reading and writing skills. You’ll see a passage with missing words. Choose the most suitable words from a dropdown list to complete the text logically.
  5. Fill in the Blanks: Get ready for a quick challenge! You’ll read a short Paragraph where some blanks are there choose the best option from the given choices.

Time is of the Essence:

The Reading module is allocated 32-41 minutes. While there’s no time limit for individual questions, you’ll need to manage your time effectively to complete all tasks within the allotted timeframe.

Sharpen Your Reading Skills:

Here’s the good news: you can improve your performance in the Reading module by familiarizing yourself with the task types and practicing with sample reading materials. Many PTE prep courses and online resources offer practice tests to hone your reading comprehension and answer selection skills.
