Follow Up Questions
- Do you think there are more beautiful things now than the past?
In my personal opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more beautiful. I think in the past, it
was easier for artists to find patrons in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their
art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The
art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and
the works produced are far behind those of the past. - Do you think there are many scenic spots in India or there are many more in other countries?
I think India is one of the most diverse countries. It has everything, mountains, rivers, deserts, and
beaches. To add to it, it has one of the richest cultural histories. So, I think it is hard to beat India in
this regard. However, India is also one of the most highly populated and polluted countries in the
world and because of this, a lot of scenic spots cannot match the pristine and untouched beauty
present in some of the rich European and American countries.
3 Where do you think people usually come into contact with beautiful things?
People like to keep beautiful objects in their homes and offices as showpieces. They generally get
them from the décor shops in the malls.
4 Why do you think people create beautiful things?
People create beautiful things to express their creativity. Some people also say that art is a form
which connects us with our spiritual being. With the help of art people can also connect with each
other.
