CELPIP Speaking Task 2 A time when you felt proud

Talk about a time when you felt proud of an accomplishment.

I felt extremely proud of myself last year when I completed my first half marathon. It was an achievement I had been working towards for several months, and crossing the finish line was an incredible feeling. I had never been a long-distance runner, so training for the event was challenging. I had to push myself physically and mentally to increase my stamina and endurance. There were times when I felt like giving up, especially during the long training runs, but I kept reminding myself of the goal and why I started in the first place. On the day of the race, I was filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The race itself was tough, especially during the final stretch, but as I approached the finish line, a surge of energy came over me, and I sprinted toward the end. When I crossed the line, I felt a deep sense of accomplishment. Not only did I complete the race, but I also achieved a personal best time. I felt proud not just because of the physical feat, but because I had proved to myself that I could set a challenging goal and work hard to achieve it. That moment reinforced the importance of perseverance and determination. It was a powerful reminder that if I stay committed to something, I can accomplish it.
